Notepad is not launching. Nothing happens and no errors are displayed.
Notepad.exe is not showing under Windows task manager processes

Notepad.exe can be easily corrupted or removed accidentally.� It is also very vulnerable and could be infected with spyware or virus.
Step: 1� -� Check status of the Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) to make sure no problems are detected and definitions are current.
Step: 2 -� Go to Command prompt� using your "A" account and run SFC /SCANNOW
If still not working proceed
Step: 3� (Windows 7� 32-bit machines have notepad.exe in 2 directories)
Please delete� (or rename) notepad.exe in the following directory locations and then copy new known good files into those locations
C:\windows
C:\windows\system32
If still not working proceed
Step: 4� Replace the notepad mui files
You may need to uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" within� Folder Options beforehand.� Re-enable this setting afterwards.

Copy notepad.exe.mui� files, if missing or rename them and then replace with known good copies
